“I was lucky enough and forever counting my lucky stars that Dylan Sellers, our movie producer, and Michelle Johnston, our movie director, had seen Descendants, had seen my role as Evie in Descendants and in the movie they saw me sing, dance and act. It’s such a beautiful song and it’s called “Stuck on the Outside” and it really speaks to the story and to so many girls in the world.” I almost had tear-drops in my eyes because it was such a special moment for me and I loved that moment so much. I remember walking on the stage and singing the song, and when the track ended, I kept singing and kept holding out the note because I was so in scene. I literally had butterflies in my stomach and was nervous all day. It’s a really, really really big moment for her and I remember that scene perfectly because I’ve never felt that connected to a character in my life. So the first time that she auditions is the very first time she’s ever sung in front of everyone other than herself, and her dad who passes when she was little. Sofia Carson: “My favorite scene in the movie is when my character Tessa, she has to go in a disguise to audition for the play and her step-family can’t find out that she’s auditioning.
